 Half-day tour itinerary suggestion (by car or motorbike)
  • Depart from the Fisher Hotel, drive towards the direction of the township, park in the Martyr’s Shrine.
  • Taipei County park.
  • Visit the historical monument, Tamsui Huwei Fort, the grandest fort in northern Taiwan, built by governor Liu, Ming-chuan. (30 minutes)
  • Go back to car then drive towards Fort San Domingo. (10 minutes)
  • Visit Fort San Domingo, British consular official residence. (45 minutes)
  • Exit from the southern gate of the Fort San Domingo, and walk uphill to the Aletheia University. (5 to 10 minutes)
  • Visit two monuments, Oxford College and the Cathedral. (20 minutes)
  • Go back to car in Fort San Domingo, drive to the cultural building. (10-15 minutes)
  • Visit Mackay Street, artists’ favorite Tamsui chapel, and Mackay Mission Hospital. (About 20 minutes)
  • Leave Mackay Street and visit the statue of Dr. Mackay. Then go back to the car in the cultural building (10 minutes, or spend 20 to 30 minutes, purchasing souvenirs in Chungcheng Road)
  • Pass through the MRT station and go to the Yinshan Temple. (10 minutes)
  • Visit the temple, the most representative one in Tamsui and a treasure of traditional architecture. (25 minutes)
  • Return to the hotel.
